Globally, it is affiliated to International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC), regionally.
History of BCCI
It dates back to 1721 where British merchants played cricket in India for the first time as a recreational sport, attracting the observers. When merchants turned into rulers, cricket as a recreation activity continued and the first cricket match on Indian soil was recorded in 1751. The establishment of the Calcutta Cricket Club in 1792, was another turning point for the sport in India. Indeed, it is the second-oldest cricket club in the world, after the Marylebone Cricket Club (1787). Upgrade to Basic Plan to unlock this content! This content is locked
